The pure experience throws my off my chair and I hope you see that now. As you've noticed, each new album contains more and more hits, and that's because I've started enjoying all these songs on their newer records, and perhaps shows that they are improving with each album. On Comedown Machine there isn't a single track which is bad, they are all B+ at minimum. I didn't put these on due to recognition or complexity but due to their characteristics. Tapout being a funky 70's discowave song, One Way Trigger moving to the 80's with those mexican jumping beans arpeggios and keeping it fast paced, Welcome to Japan with that upbeat groovy feel, with a killer solo and outro, 50/50 giving a glimpse for the glory days, Slow Animals for that emotional punch, and indie feel, Chances for being one of the sexiest Strokes songs ever, Happy Ending for being the most happy-go-lucky songs in the Strokes arsenal and Call It Fate, Call It Karma being that weird yet unique track, an overlooked, simple yet tender moment that closes the album beautifully. Thanks and bye.

This eases up when Casablancas yells with a slight Southern twang 'O in the sun sun, having fun.' And paves for the chorus. The chorus immediately melts you and you sink into it, absorbing every bit of it as Cassablancas drones into the mic. All of a sudden you're put out of it when a wailing guitar comes in and starts playing the greatest solo you'll ever hear, doing multiple high pitched bends and then trem picking up and down the fretboard, making you go all dizzy. It then repeats, leaving you melted and then pricking you up and again with the guitar spike at the end, leaving you ready to bask in the next track.

When these hip, eclectic New Yorkers released their debut album,, at the turn of the century, it helped turn rock 'n' roll back on its fast, edgy feet. Sure, they're moneyed, handsome and talented, but still managed to keep things cool, roughing up pop's sheen with catchy, garage-gritty songs like and Is This It landed on numerous critic lists, sold millions of copies and has since influenced throngs of young indie rockers. The quintet may never be able to top that initial success, but they're still going strong, 15 years after forming and five albums in, including 2003's, 2006's, 2011's and now, a set that straddles the line between their earlier art punk and their later electro-pop experiments. Catch up on the band's lengthy career with this best-of playlist, which also includes tracks from the band members' side projects and solo efforts.

Someday is just boring to me, and I don't see the appeal. Most people say that it is nostalgic, and I'm incapable of feeling it from a song I didn't listen to in it's hayday, but that's wrong because I feel that feeling on Hard To Explain. Last Nite was always overrated and while it followed the Strokes formula, it always felt like a drag.

To me, Someday and Last Nite may be hits but they fall a bit lackluster when compared to the rest of the tracks on Is This It. To me, what makes a good Strokes song is one that can appear at random on my playlist and I won't mind it and will sit through it.

Not to mention the groovy bassline that comes in after that, leaving you only nodding your head as the song feels more lively than the previous state it was in. The song finishes back into it's simple guitar and drum beat, leaving you time to cool down after the beautiful instrumentals, and ends on a dramatic note, with the guitars repeating the same note, begging you the question, '.is this it?' In conclusion, this song is notable for its slow and relaxing tempo, and guitar line. The monotone vocals drill it and add to the slow tempo. It's short length also is appropriate for being the title track and makes it stay true to it's name, leaving you anticipating some great stuff coming up ahead on the album.
