Install Diablo 2 Without Cd
How can I play the original Diablo without a cd player. Get a diablo CD.iso and mount is with something like PowerISO. Shitty gameplay. Play diablo 2 if. Diablo II won't accept my install disc. But after some research I have found out that the installer came with the CD in the Install Disc are only made for OS X version 9 or before, and OS X 10 and above must use the install patch provided by the site. I can't seem to find.
At any rate, the method above you will let you play without the CD in the drive.
Install patch 1.12 by double clicking on its file to extract its contents. Ensure that it installs in the Diablo II game folder when it asks to to set the installation path. Insert the Diablo II installation CD and open it by right clicking and pressing 'Explore' when it is mounted on your CD drive.

Register the CD key with a Battle.net account(not a Diablo II account, but the thing I linked to). Download Diablo II via that, install it with that file, and you should be good to go. I assumed you could do it just by patching the game, but apparently not from what you have said. Note that you will not to be able to play online games using the same CD key, but I think you should be able to play via LAN that way. I'm not sure though; I've never tried it.

Hello,as you can tell by the title,I just can't find the CD-Key. I bought D2 + LoD (digital versions) on Battle.net like a year ago, and I recently had to format my PC and resintall everything.Now I wanna install Diablo 2.when I go in my game management (on Battle.net) the game is there,I click on it but there's no CD-Key displayed!
On the account page you have an option to enter game keys, if you have the game key, enter it and it marks the account as owning the game, allowing access to a digital download. This applies to any expansions too. Now I'm not sure about Diablo 1, but I've had this work for me for Diablo 2. A friend of mine passed me his Warcraft 3 + expansion keys and it worked for me. I'm almost sure this works even if you used the key some 10+ years ago but correct me if I'm wrong. Hope this helps!

If you still have your cd key, you can register it at blizzard's online store (you must have an account, but its free and worth it).Not Only does it have a no-cd patch so you can play without the disk, you can download it as many times as you want! That means multiple computers folks =] Another way (and illegal =]) is to download a virtual drive like daemon tools and then download the diablo 2 cue. Files, and install it like that. Also a tip to any people who are making Diablo II hacks that install by finding the D2 window: EnumWindows / GetClassName / GetWindowThreadProcessId are your friends. Don't go enumerating the executable names as these aren't 100% reliable due to renaming. The D2 window classname is 'Diablo II'. Small note, the last version recommended using '-nocleanup' to do a 'nice' shutdown of D2 - a word of warning - don't use -nocleanup with -skiptobnet or every time D2 tries to exit by going back to the menu, it will reconnect to bnet and you'll be stuck in a rather nasty foreground-hogging infinite loop. No matter how I try to install Diablo 2, it always asks for the disk even when the disk in in my drive. I have tried installing it on a Windows XP machine, updating to the latest patch, and then moving it to my computer, and I have tried installing from the disks directly. Both times, it asks for either the Diablo 2 install or the Expansion disk. What is weird is on my previous Arch build with XFCE4, installing with the disks got far enough to the part where you switch disks but I was having problems unmounting them while still keeping the install going.
